I am a mixed-media textile artist, working from my home studio in Sheffield. I’m inspired by the colours and textures found in my environment. My work often starts with found objects, a pebble, rusty washer, pottery shard, seed pod or lichen encrusted twig.

Using my own photographs, as well as collected items as a starting point, I explore my topic, continuing to observe, draw and mark-make while jotting down words and ideas. All of this recorded in a sketchbook, an essential part of my process. It's this process of drawing, sampling, recording and testing out ideas in my sketchbook that leads me to a resolved design and enables me to move work forwards. My ongoing work is exploring lichen and the many ways that I can try to capture this in stitch, creating lichen gardens.

I'm a member of Art Through Textiles, an exhibiting group based in Sheffield and I'm also a member of Ecostitchers, 5 friends who work to a common theme and who've been exhibiting annually since 2019.
